Featured Duel: Shark vs. Kite[]
Turn One: Shark
Shark activates the Shark Lair spell card. By sending Big Jaws(1800/300) in his hand to the graveyard, Kite is unable to attack with a monster unless it has equal or less Attack points. Next, he normal summons Shocktopus(1600/800) in attack position and sets one card face down. His turn then ends.
Turn Two: Kite Tenjo
Kite activates the spell card Polymerization from his hand. With its ability, he fuses the two Photon Lizards(900/1200) in his hand to Fusion Summon Twin Photon Lizard(2400/1000) in Attack Position. Entering his battle phase, he attacks and destroys Shocktopus(Shark: 4000 → 3200). At this moment, Shocktopus's effect is activated. It is equipped onto Twin Photon Lizard, so its attack points go down to 0 and it cannot change battle positions. Countering this, Kite activates the effect of Twin Photon Lizard, splitting the monster back into two Photon Lizards. Next, he overlays the two Special Summoned Level 3 Photon Lizards on his field to XYZ summon Number 30: Acid Golem of Destruction. in Attack Position. Immediately afterwards, Shark activated his face-down card, Splash Capture , allowing him to switch the control of Acid Golem from Kite's field to his own. Kite then activated the Spell Card Forced Release from his hand, allowing him to detach all of Acid Golem's overlay units. Lastly, he sets a card face down and thus, ends his turn.
Turn Three: Shark
During the Standby Phase, Acid Golem effect activates and Shark loses 2000 Life Points(Shark: 3200 → 1200) since Acid Golem has no Overlay Units. Entering his battle phase, he declares a direct attack, but due to Acid Golem's effect, he cannot conduct battle when Acid Golem has no Overlay Units. Shark sets Life Regeneration face down and ends his turn.
Turn 4: Kite Tenjo
Kite activated the Spell Card Photon Sublimation. By banishing this two Photon Lizards in his graveyard, two cards can be drawn from the deck. First, he special summons Photon Thrasher(2100/000) from his hand since he controls no monsters. Next, he Normals Summons Photon Crusher(2000/000) and tributes it along with Photon Thrasher to Special Summon Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon(3000/2500). in Attack Position. He then attacks Acid Golem and destroys the monster. Acid Golem's effect activates, since it had no overlay units when it was attacked, therefore, Sharks takes 2000 points of damage(1200→0).
